Time to Clean Our Fruits and Veggies Properly

Time to Clean Our Fruits and Veggies Properly

TIME TO CLEAN OUR FRUITS AND VEGGIES PROPERLY

What is a better way to start summer than with some fresh fruits and veggies? But before you take that delicious bite, it is important to remember to properly clean them!

Peaches, nectarines, watermelons, cucumbers, and carrots are taking over the farmers market stands and waiting to be enjoyed by everyone. Don’t forget to choose organic and locally grown produce, to help the environment, support our local farmers, and save our bodies from agricultural chemicals and harsh harvesting ingredients.

A little dirt never killed anyone, but we should be using more than just a quick rinse of water on our food. Although when we choose local and organic produce there is less opportunity for our foods to be covered in harmful germs and chemicals, we still need to wash what we are eating.

To get that proper wash, just use two simple ingredients:

  • A few drops (about ¼ tsp.) of our Makes 3 OrganicsⓇ Organic Castile Soaps (Coming Soon!) in a bowl of water.
  • Submerge and swish the fruit or veggies around for a few seconds, then rinse in fresh, cold water.
  • Enjoy!

Share with us what delicious fruits and vegetables you are enjoying this summer, please tag us at @makes3organics on FB, Instagram and Twitter.
